Not in a City : Overview of the Hoover Dam from the new built Bypass Bridge. Look how hostile the topography is! Quite an achievement to have built this marvel of engineering in the 30's ... It took 4 years to erect the damn (1931-1935) and 5 to complete the bypass (2005-2010) The later was completed at a cost of $240 M, which happens to be the initial budget. Let's call that an achievement :)

Not in a City : Hoover Dam. Built in the 30s it was part of public works set by Hoover. It was a respond to the 1929s great depression. This huge dam just took 4 years to complete. power Plant.
